Bachelorette Parties for DUMMIES: Your step-by-step guide to planning a bachelorette party7/16/2019 Besides helping the bride with every step, assisting in finding the perfect dress, shoes and jewelry, and keeping your cool, the maid of honor is often set with the task of planning and directing the bachelorette party. I'm my sister's maid of honor for her wedding on October 12, 2019. We had already planned on going on a girls trip before the engagement so we invited her bridesmaid and turned it into a bachelorette party weekend. Here are my pro tips in planning the best bachelorette party possible: 1. Picking a destinationWhen deciding where to go for a bachelorette party, think about everyone in the bridal party. You don't necessarily have to go to a far destination and can easily make a fun night out in your local hometown city completely possible. However some popular destinations include various beaches, cities like Chicago, Nashville, and the most popular being Las Vegas. We had decided on our girls weekend destination to be Niagara Falls, Canada because we went on a Canada trip last year and loved it for how weird the Clifton Hill area is. We also picked Canada because I would be "of age" there and could participate in activities such as going to the casino or going to a winery. If there are underage girls in the bridal party, think about having a two part party so that those underage can still participate. 2. Be mindful of everyone in the groupBe mindful of everyone in the group, but most importantly be mindful of the bride. This trip should be celebrating the bride so think about what she would want to do. If she would love going to a winery, or having matching shirts then try to cater to that. 3. It doesn't always have to involve 🍆👀Bachelor and bachelorette parties are notorious for drinking, strippers and gambling, but it doesn't always have to involve that (especially phallic symbols/strippers if the bride wouldn't like it). We spent the first day in Niagara Falls going to the Botanical Gardens before spending the night exploring the touristy area of the Falls and going to the casino. We spent our second, full day at 13th Street Winery (10/10 would recommend) drinking and tasting wine before heading back to the Falls area for dinner, casino, and more wine fun. It was a beautiful winery and the most relaxing part of the entire trip. It's also very important to research these different activities and how you'll be getting to each destination, such as taking an Uber. 4. Picking a themeWhen picking out a potential theme for the party, think about what the bride would want. My sister loves The Golden Girls so we did incorporate some aspects of the theming with an ice bucket and Golden Girl buttons. We also got classic bachelorette party themed decorations for the room. 5. DecoratingIt's always a good idea to decorate for the bachelorette party whether it's a party at home or a destination that you're staying in a hotel for. Decorating not only makes this special occasion fun, but a photo-op area can be created to make and take photos to remember the trip forever. We purchased the following party kit on Amazon for around $35 and had all the materials we needed for amazing decor. Bachelorette Party Decorations Kit Contains: Glittery Gold “Bride To Be” Banner, Rhinestone Tiara, Combed Veil, “Bride To Be” Sash, Glittery Gold Diamond Ring Confetti, Foil Diamond Ring Balloon, Gold Photo Wall Backdrops, Gold, Pink and Clear with Confetti Latex Balloons, Frosted Plastic Cups with Gold Writing, “The Bride” and “Bride Tribe” Tattoos all in a relatively small box for easy transporting 6. Do your researchDO YOUR RESEARCH!!! Before our trip, I researched the different activities and restaurants (our favorites being Kelsey's and Weinkeller) we would possibly want to visit. A good resource is the particular destinations travel site, or bachelorette blog posts about the destination you'll be going to. The Niagara Falls destination site I did most of my research through was: https://www.niagarafallstourism.com/ 7. Have multiple itinerariesWith all that research, have multiple itineraries for anything. Have a list of restaurants, things to see and places to go ready on your phone. While you might not go and see everything on your itinerary, it's better to have more prepared than to have nothing to do at all. 8. Everyone loves a goodie bagI don't know anyone who doesn't LOVE a goodie bag. My sister (the bride) got us all goodie bags, and the bridesmaid and I worked together to create goodie bags for everyone. Think about what might be needed on the trip, such as sunglasses, snacks or travel wine glasses. Below are just a few "gifts" we purchased for our goodie bags, along with our final wrapped bags: 9. Do It YourselfWe love a money saving do-it-yourself (DIY). Two projects made for this trip included buttons (made with an easy button making kit) for everyone and monogramed travel wine glasses (made by the bridesmaid with her cricut). 10. T-shirts optionalWhile completely optional, we loved wearing our matching t-shirts during this trip. Pictured and linked below are the shirts we purchased for this trip customized with colors matching the wedding. Remember to have fun on this trip and don't stress too much about making everyone happy. I know we had a memorable bachelorette trip and you can too! |

My sister's wedding is fast approaching, which is why I'm planning to rent a bus for her surprise bachelorette party. Thank you for sharing here that it would be a great idea to buy a party decoration kit that contains sash, Glittery Gold Diamond Ring Confetti, Foil Diamond Ring Balloon, and Gold Photo Wall Backdrops. We'll also keep in mind to buy snacks and wine glasses.
